Oklahoma River Cruise

City officials began designing the Oklahoma River Water Transport Mobility Program in 2006, with the goal of providing a unique transportation link between the downtown corridor and outlying hotel area while also drawing attention to riverfront development.

The original MAPS and Corps of Engineers-funded improvements to the newly renamed Oklahoma River have transformed the area into a seven-mile stretch of navigable river bordered by landscaped areas. Recreational facilities include nearly 14 miles of trails, public boating and fishing facilities, five wetlands, 18 pedestrian bridges, three dams and more than 6,000 trees. Locks integrated into the Western Avenue and May Avenue dams allow the Devon Discovery, Devon Explorer and Devon Pioneer to navigate the entire seven-mile corridor.

This tour will be guided by Pat Downes of the Oklahoma City Riverfront Redevelopment Authority. Mr. Downes has been involved in changing this stretch of river from an unattractive area, to one of the premier locations in Oklahoma City.

American Indian Cultural Center and Museum

At the center of the continent and in the heart of Indian Country, a dynamic center of history, culture and the arts is on the rise. Architecture, landscape, people and programs combine into a remarkable place for understanding, sharing and honoring the unique experience of the American Indian in Oklahoma.

You will be provided an exclusive tour of this facility while it is under construction.

Project 180

Downtown Oklahoma City is getting a makeover. A massive renovation project of more than 180 acres in downtown Oklahoma City has begun. The initiative, named Project 180, is a three year, $140 million redesign of downtown streets, sidewalks, parks and plazas to improve appearance and make the central core more pedestrian friendly.

"Project 180 is one of the most ambitious downtown transformations in the country," said project engineer Laura Story. "When it is completed, Downtown will be more visitor friendly and better poised for economic growth."

This tour of the Project 180 area, including views of the construction of Devon Tower, will be guided by Laura Story.
