CHEROKEE STRIP TRANSIT

Cherokee Strip Transit, a division of Northern Oklahoma Development Authority began operations in 1995, and is a demand response transportation system that is open to the public. The service area for Cherokee Strip Transit includes the towns of Cherokee, Garber, Covington, Billings, Fairmont, Breckenridge, Perry, Waukomis, Tonkawa, Ponca City, Blackwell, Kingfisher, Watonga, and Hunter. Incidental trips to other nearby communities are also provided as needed as well as trips to Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Cherokee Strip Transit’s main office is located in Garber, but satellite offices are located in Blackwell, Cherokee, Tonkawa, Perry, Kingfisher, and Watonga. These offices service those towns and surrounding areas. Scheduling and dispatching for all offices are coordinated through the Garber CST office.

OPERATING SCHEDULE

CST is a transportation project which provides demand respond services. Service hours are based on customer accommodations if possible. Recommendation for intercity and out of town travel if possible is to schedule up to 3 days in advance to better met the need. In locations where in-town transportation is provided, service hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Office Hours are also Monday through Friday, 8:30 am till 4:30 pm.
