Due to the I–40 bridge hit in Webbers Falls, all vehicles are being detoured along area highways. ODOT urges motorists traveling through the state to avoid the vicinity entirely. Through traffic please follow the directional routes recommended. Time delays are impossible to predict, however in optimal conditions allow 30 extra minutes for westbound and 1 hour for eastbound. (Colors coordinate with route map)


Truck Route Change:
Eastbound I–40 truck traffic should travel south on SH–2, east on SH–9 continuing through Spiro on to Ft. Smith, Ark.
See I–40 Local Detour Route Map. ODOT crews continue to monitor the detour routes to ensure motorists safety.


Vehicular through traffic I–40 eastbound:
At Warner, go south on SH–2
East on SH–9
North on US–59 rejoining I–40 near Sallisaw


Truck and vehicular through traffic I–40 westbound:
At Gore, go north on SH–10
West on US-64
South on SH–100 rejoining I-40 east of Muskogee Turnpike


Travelers from northern Oklahoma, including Kansas:
South on I–35
East on US–412/Cimarron Turnpike


Travelers from northeastern Oklahoma, Tulsa and surrounding areas:
East on US–412/Cherokee Turnpike
South on I–540 in Arkansas
East onto I–40 in Ft. Smith, Ark.


Travelers coming into Oklahoma from Texas to access I–40 east of Warner, Okla.:
Use I–30 from Texas into Arkansas

All detours, except the eastbound truck route listed above, are open and available to trucks and other vehicles. ODOT crews continue to monitor the routes, which may be adjusted as events progress to ensure the safety of the motoring public.
