Detail Information

Paired truss bridges crossing the Verdigris River/Bird Creek on the 1936 alignment in Rogers County. One bridge was built in 1936 and the other, similar, structure in 1957. Both have been determined eligible for inclusion in the NRHP. These bridges represent the upgrade of US66 to a modern 4-lane highway, presaging some of the characteristics of the modern interstate highway system. M.E. Gillioz, contractor.
