SUBJECT:

All interested persons are hereby given notice that the Oklahoma Department of Transportation has completed environmental review for the proposed improvements on US-169 from 56th Street to 76th in Tulsa County.

The purpose of the proposed project is to improve traffic flow on US-169 and correct structurally deficient bridges over E. 56th Street, Bird Creek, and Bird Creek overflow. The existing US-169 highway has two driving lanes with shoulders in each direction. The proposed improvements will replace the structurally deficient bridges and add lanes to improve traffic operations and accommodate the current and future traffic on US-169. The ramps at the 56th Street interchange also will be modified to accommodate the additional lanes. All improvements will be constructed within the existing right-of-way and 2 lanes of traffic in each direction will be maintained during phased construction. The proposed highway rendering can be found using the link on the left hand side of the page.

The environmental studies performed for this project did not identify any significant environmental impacts. Members of the public are invited to submit comments. All comments must be in writing and received by July 15, 2013. Written comments may be mailed to the Environmental Programs Division Engineer, 200 N.E. 21st Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73105 or e-mailed to environment@odot.org. For additional information contact Joe Brutsché, at (405)521-2325.
